This blog documents the inter-cultural adventures of Bridget O'Sullivan and Benjamin Chan.
Bridget is of European-American heritage (mainly, for the sake of our story, Irish). She's a 9th or 3rd generation American settler, depending on your math.
Benjamin is of Asian-American heritage (mainly, for the sake of our story, Chinese). He's a 1st generation American settler.
They got married and now they're the O'Chans. This blog will be a catalogue of their experiences as an inter-racial couple in the United States (with visits to other places).
The title of this blog, Tiger-in-Law, is both a spoof of Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, which is loosely about Chinese-American parenting, and a play on the Celtic Tiger, a nickname used to refer to the economic boom in Ireland during the late 1990s.
Most identifying details of the stories have been changed, including the names of the main characters. Don't tell our parents.
